Hospital staff work tirelessly every day to provide the care Pennsylvanians rely on. In honor of National Hospital Week — May 12-18 — we asked you to share with us the ways your local hospitals are going above and beyond to provide patient care.
“Pennsylvania Hospital took such excellent care of me.”
Carol from Philadelphia was rushed to Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, in February 2021 after she began to feel strange. As soon as she got there, staff attended to her quickly and found she was having a TIA ministroke. She is feeling better, and she is grateful to the Pennsylvania Hospital staff who helped her.
“I feel so blessed to have had the team I had working on me. And my faith in my God got me through. … I am feeling better and learned so much about things I need to do to remain healthy. Thank you, Jesus, and Pennsylvania Hospital team.”
“Reading Hospital was unbelievable.”
Melissa from Reading had her father transported to Reading Hospital by ambulance. When he arrived, he was attended to by a great team of nurses and doctors. Melissa’s dad is on the mend after surgery, and Melissa is extremely grateful to everyone at Reading Hospital.
“ … the vascular team at the Reading Hospital was unbelievable, and I have no words to describe the amount of gratitude I have for them!”
“The [Jefferson Torresdale Hospital] nurses were so sweet.”
In April 2020, Melissa from Oreland had to say goodbye to her father-in-law, who succumbed to COVID-19. She is thankful for the staff at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, Philadelphia, who stayed by her father-in-law’s side and helped him pass away peacefully.
“At the time no visitation was a new concept and the nurses held his hand, prayed with him, and helped him pass away peacefully while we talked to him on FaceTime. As incredibly horrible as this memory is, we are so grateful for the nurses who were angels that day.”
