Donate Life Pennsylvania reports that someone in Pennsylvania dies every 18 hours waiting for an organ transplant. By adding the organ donor designation to your driver’s license or photo ID, you’re helping to give someone a second chance.
Become an organ donor
It takes only 30 seconds to become an organ donor in Pennsylvania. All you need is your name, driver’s license or photo ID number, date of birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security number.
Once you have this information, visit PennDOT’s online organ donor designation page. Log in with the information.
PennDOT will then send you a confirmation card that you will have to carry with you until you have your license or ID renewed. Once it’s renewed, the designation will be printed on your new ID or license.
If you’re getting your first license or ID, you can indicate on the form that you wish to be an organ donor. Your parent or guardian will need to give consent if you’re under 18.
The need for organ donors is great. Read this post to see why.
